If you have your beautiful and working prototype, do you think it is enough to produce it in mass quantity?
Of course no. Most of the production process for big quantities are different from the production process for prototypes. also if parts of the system are more than one, you have to coordinate the production, driving all the parts till the final assembly.
Most of the time all these phases are made by factories and people thousands of miles away from you.
